Our Cancer Stories draws inspiration from the real-life accounts of individuals who have been affected by cancer. Access stories from our database according to your needs, stage or location, and learn from and be empowered by the experience of hundreds of patients and survivors.
Our Cancer Stories also provides in-depth, research-based information on detecting, treating, surviving and preventing cancer. Our content is tailored for easy reading and designed to offer pragmatic advice, emotional support and comfort that resonates with our readers. We strive to provide up-to-date content informed by the latest research in cancer, global and nationwide guidelines and clinical practice.

Representing a vulnerable group accurately to our readers is important to us, and we take steps to ensure that the stories recounted are reflective of the true journey of those affected by cancer.
We respect the privacy of the patients who entrust their stories to us, and are committed to protecting their personal data. All stories are shared anonymously, and any identifiable data has been omitted.

We aim to deliver factually accurate information supported by research and clinical practice. Our content undergoes a strict editorial and review process, with the assistance of doctors, oncologists, and experts worldwide, who comprise our team of medical reviewers. Our Team
Our Cancer Stories is a project undertaken by a team of academics and researchers from the National University of Singapore’s Global Asia Institute (GAI). With expertise across different disciplines, our team takes a holistic approach in providing compassionate support and reliable information about cancer.
Our team is led by Professor Noah Lim, Director of GAI and Principal Investigator of the project.
Noah Lim
Founder and Principal InvestigatorNoah Lim is Provost's Chair Professor, Director of NUS Global Asia Institute (GAl) and Department Chair of Marketing at the NUS Business School. His research examines human behavior in the marketing, health and sustainability domains using experimental and quantitative methods. He received a PhD in Marketing from the Wharton School, and was previously the John P. Morgridge Distinguished Chair in Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Samantha Phua
Team LeadSamantha Phua (MSc, Science Communication) is the team lead at Our Cancer Stories, and a science writer focused on colorectal cancer. With a decade of experience in content creation and marketing, educational and academic publishing, she hopes to be a strong advocate for early colorectal cancer screening through reliable and easy-to-understand content.
