Hi, I’m Raymond. I’m a forklift truck driver from the UK and I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in October 2023. I’m currently receiving treatment.
I started urinating often, especially at night. After a PSA check, I was eventually diagnosed with a prostate adenocarcinoma.
At first, I felt optimistic and confident it would be treated.
The only treatment I'm having is hormone injections every 3 months.
I continued working after my diagnosis as I needed the income to support myself and my loved ones.
I’ve kept my life insurance up to date.
I don’t think much about my fears. I just keep going, take every day as it comes, don't think about it too much and just get on with it. My family and lovely partner are at my side. Working and keeping occupied have helped me as well.
I was optimistic, but now the cancer has spread to the bottom of my spine and it is untreatable.
Keep smiling, you’re not on your own. Keep your chin up; there are people worse off than you.
